BEACH SOCCER REFEREEING AND COACHING COURSES OCT 25TH-29TH 2016

Busoga university sponsored and hosted the above two courses. The courses were conducted by:  Mr. Ali Mwebe------------------Refereeing

        Mr. Mutyaba Ibrahim---------Coaching.

The course attracted a total of 44 referee trainees and 20 coach trainees. These two courses were intended to train personnel in preparation for the planned Eastern Region beach soccer Championship/ League to be hosted by the university.

All participants were awarded certificates of attendance by the FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo in the presence of the DVCF/A Elder Ndiwalana; the FUFA CEO Mr. Edgar Watson Suubi, Deputy Mayor Iganga Municipality, Chairman Eastern Regional football association also Mayor of Sironko Mr. Musiwa and many football dignitaries.

The Vice Chancellor thanked the federation for allowing the course take place at Busoga University and also thanked the FUFA President and his entourage for accepting to grace the occasion. He reiterated that the University was passionate about sports and that is why it has heavily invested in the construction of infrastructure and also committed to hosting many more sports activities. He called upon the federation to support the University in its efforts to develop these facilities.

In his speech, the FUFA President thanked Busoga University in taking the lead in the introduction of this game in the region. He hailed them for being the pioneers of an artificial beach soccer ground and also its inception in the inter-University competitions.

He exclaimed that if the facility is finally complete, there is no doubt it will be hosting training of the national team and also hosting international championships. He pledged on behalf of FUFA ten trucks of sand plus technical support to see that this project is completed.

Appreciation goes to the Vice Chancellor for his moral and financial support towards these courses where the community and even our own students were able to be trained.
